Ellie
Ellie began working with horses as a child. As an adult, she was naturally drawn back to horses and began her formal training in riding and horsemanship. Her training includes both English and Western riding. With her own horses, she focuses her riding and training on the bond between horse and rider.
She has been teaching at Horse and Hive since 2017 and has her level 2 CHA certification in English and Western instruction. She is an experienced instructor of riders of all ages, having taught riders as young as 3.5 to as old as 80. Safety, both in and out of the saddle, is an important part of her lessons and her instruction includes working with the horses on the ground, as well as riding, so that all students learn to work safely with horses in and out of the saddle.
As a riding instructor, her goal is to enable riders of all levels to become comfortable and confident in their riding which she does by observing the biomechanics of the rider’s movement and position. Because every rider has different challenges to overcome, whether new to riding, getting back into the saddle, or advancing their riding skills, during lessons she provides coaching tailored to student’s individual needs. She also works with her students on increasing their riding fitness through strength and flexibility exercises in and out of the saddle.
Through her instruction her students say that they’ve learned perseverance, partnership, and to embrace challenges as opportunities. Parents of her students have seen their children learn patience and collaboration as they build their relationship with the horses. By working with Ellie, students gain confidence in themselves and learn to problem solve as they learn to adjust their approach to work with different horses and grow their skills in riding and horsemanship.
Whether your goal is to start riding, build your skills, or learn how to show, Ellie has the training and skills to help you advance your riding and horsemanship.

Lina
Lina started her riding at the age of 6yrs old, she loved the partnership and bond she received from horses. At the age of 9yrs old Lina and her horse started working with trainers to learn more about training and building a partnership through ground work and saddle time. Throughout the years she worked with many trainers some including Major Jermey Beale who rode in the Olympic Games 1960 & 1964 and Kirsten Nelson from FL that specializes in the biomechanics of horse and riders together. Lina also spent a few years learning and studying with Jim Mcdonald working on better understanding horsemanship and the bond between horse and rider. Lina has spent years learning how to implement these methods onto herself, the horses she trains and students that ride with her.

Merideth
Merideth has been riding since a teen. She has participated in H/J, Dressage, Eventing, and even some western events like Ranch Sorting with her horses. She enjoys the process of building a relationship with the horse and figuring out what they are good at and enjoy doing. Merideth has been teaching for 10 years and enjoys seeing students progress and develop their love of horses.

Victoria
Victoria's teaching focuses on the fundamentals of equitation and uses her knowledge of different disciplines to inform her teaching. She enjoys sharing her love of horses with each of her students. Victoria's goal is to build a strong, safe, and confident rider.
